The Trans-Tisza Region Environmental, Nature Protection and Water Inspectorate is the regional body of the Hungarian Ministry of Environment and Water. Since January 1st, 2005 the Inspectorate as unified „Green Authority” is responsible for environment, nature and landscape protection tasks as well beside the authority tasks of environmental protection.
As one of the 10 Regional Inspectorates for Environment, Nature and Water in Hungary, it has full responsibility to implement, monitor and evaluate the existing measures and has long-term and sound experiences in the field of water management/agricultural water management. The Partner participates to the development, control and monitoring of regional, national water management programmes and policies. It relies on accredited laboratories, modern IT background, well-trained staff units and an independent unit for water management. Providing a permanent customer service as well as an informative website, experts, co-authorities, NGOs and inhabitants are continuously informed about relating environmental data, legal background and regulations as well as important processes.
The Inspectorate has previous experience in EU funded projects, e.g. as partner in the LIFE Programme, implementing the project ‘East Hungarian Biomonitoring Network’.
