The Institute has a long tradition in macro and micro economic researches. For the 1st field, it deals with: long-term strategies of local and regional communities’ development; programs of socio–economic and environmental revitalisation of resources in rural communities; projects of rural infrastructure development and complex programs of rural areas organization; projects in water sector: hydrography, irrigation, drainage, flood protection, fishery development, economical evaluation of irrigation systems of vegetable in green houses, etc. In the area of microeconomic research, it works with: programs and development models for family farms concerning structural changes in agriculture and in village and measures of agricultural policy; technological projects for agricultural production & food industry, pre-investment and investment programs; environmental impact evaluation; environmental management systems in line with ISO 14000; irrigation and drainage of soils under agricultural plants.
